Prof Dr. Yousif AlMashhadani, a faculty member at the Biomedical Engineering Research Center at the University of Anbar, participated as a keynote speaker in the 16th International Forum organized by the AREED Scientific Foundation in collaboration with AREEED International Graduate Studies University and Ankara Haci Bayram Veli University in Turkey, held during the period from July 1 to 5, 2025. His participation featured a specialized scientific workshop held under the title: “The Optimal Style to Turn a Patent into an Investment Project: A Case Based on the Experience of the Biomedical Engineering Research Center at the University of Anbar.” The workshop addressed effective strategies for transforming patents in the field of biomedical engineering into successful investment projects, highlighting the experience of the Biomedical Engineering Research Center at the University of Anbar as a practical model—particularly in the development of innovative technologies to treat foot drop and the design of smart prosthetic limbs. Emphasis was placed on the role of advanced technologies such as nanotechnology and micro-robotics in providing effective alternatives to traditional treatment methods, which are often costly or inefficient. The workshop also discussed issues related to intellectual property protection and patent registration, as well as the importance of building academic and investment partnerships to secure funding and transition research into market-ready solutions. This participation underscored the active role of Iraqi university researchers in bridging scientific research with real-world application, contributing to the knowledge economy and sustainable development.
