As part of the applied research activities and scientific collaboration initiatives undertaken by the Biomedical Engineering Research Center at the University of Anbar to strengthen community partnerships and apply scientific research to address health and humanitarian issues, a memorandum was signed regarding a proposed project submitted by the Biomedical Engineering Research Center to the Anbar Health Directorate. This took place in cooperation with Mr. Omar Yahya Ahmed, Head of the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Division in Anbar, along with Mr. Marwan Fawaz Raheem, member of the EMS Division, and Mr. Raed Ahmed Odeh, Chief Engineer in the same division. Representing the Biomedical Engineering Research Center were Dr. Ali Amer Al-Rawi, Director of the Center, Prof Dr. Yousif AlMashhadani, Prof Dr. Thakir Al-Fahdawi, and Dr. Muhannad Abdul Salam. This proposal aims to implement a joint research project focused on enhancing emergency medical services by integrating biomedical engineering innovations with the operational requirements of emergency response systems. The ultimate goal is to reduce accident-related risks and improve emergency response effectiveness across the province. The Director of the Biomedical Engineering Research Center expressed his full support for the initiative, emphasizing its importance in fostering collaboration between the university and health institutions, and reaffirming the Center’s readiness to provide all necessary technical and research resources to support this humanitarian project. Implementation of the project is expected to commence in the near future, God willing, contributing to the improvement of emergency healthcare services provided to the people of Anbar Province, while reinforcing the university’s role in serving the community and advancing sustainable development in the healthcare sector.
